Jesus’ Triumphal Entry

A large crowd gathered anticipating Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. They “took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him” (John 12:13a NASB). The Scriptures tell us that most of the people spread their coats in the road, and spread the palm branches over the road ahead of Him (see Matthew 21:1-11). Hosannas filled the air as Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem against the backdrop of the Mount of Olives in the distance. These events are celebrated by many on what is now known as Palm Sunday. Yet these events in their history declare a prophetic picture… Continue reading

The Sin and Hurtfulness of A False Accusation

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts” (Psalms 51:6a NKJ). “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Exodus 20:16 NASB). God has made clear His stand regarding anyone making a false accusation against someone. This is something from which everyone should flee. Injustice abounds when an accuser makes false accusations even when mistakenly or seeminly sincerely made. However, God does not silently sit by. But what of the person who is the victim of a false accusation? How can they find peace in it? God is also not silent about these. Continue reading

Composure That Cannot Be Shaken

Troublesome times are here. Many truths we hold dear and in which we have firm convictions are under all-out assault. A new order battles to usurp established beliefs founded in the realities God has revealed through His Word and Holy Spirit. The epicenter of the attack of the enemy is aimed at the very foundation of our faith. The enemy’s strategy is that we lose heart. He wants us to give up the good fight of faith. The world system and demonic powers threaten to shake our composure with the objective to trample the salt of the earth, the Community… Continue reading

Repentance, Renewal, and Revival (Part 2)

“I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, in order that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation” (2 Corinthians 7:9-10a,b NASB). “Wilt Thou not Thyself revive us again, That Thy people may rejoice in Thee?” (Psalms 85:6 NASB) –Begin Part 2– A Historical Example of Genuine Revival There have been many powerful genuine revivals recorded… Continue reading

Repentance, Renewal, and Revival (Part 1)

I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, in order that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation” (2 Corinthians 7:9-10a,b NASB). “Wilt Thou not Thyself revive us again, That Thy people may rejoice in Thee?” (Psalms 85:6 NASB) Many words have been given to categorize or describe a move of God. We have seen them… Continue reading

The Moving of God

The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going” (John 3:8a,b NASB). Here in His discussion with Nicodemus, Jesus declares some things about the moving of the Holy Spirit. While the moving of God upon a person, a people, or a nation is spontaneous, mysterious, and at times mystical, we can be aware of it. Yet when God moves,His work is manifested in people – people who are born of the Spirit in whom Christ is being formed (see Galatians 4:19). Considering the… Continue reading

From Blade to Grain

“…The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts up and grows — how, he himself does not know. The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head. But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4:26-29 NASB) Regarding maturity, there are two occasions found in the Scriptures that denote a time to ripen, as well as a time when the… Continue reading

Where I Am, There You Will Be

“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall My servant also be;” (John 12:26). Not too long ago I was reading the 12th chapter of John. As I was reading and came upon Jesus’ response to His disciples and the Greeks who desired to see Him the Holy Spirit began to move in my heart and mind. Suddenly, I could see this passage play out in my mind. It was as though God put the passage into animation. I envisioned Jesus’ leading a person along in their day, and this breakaway took place as… Continue reading
